Halifax Seaport — Sense of Arrival
For hundreds of thousands of international visitors each year, the Halifax Seaport is their first introduction to Halifax and Nova Scotia. In 2025 alone, the Port welcomed 357,000 cruise passengers and more than 151,000 crew, representing 184 vessel calls from 24 cruise lines.
Working with the Halifax Port Authority, SperryDesign transformed Pavilion 20 into a bold sense-of-arrival experience—using large-scale environmental graphics, custom illustration and destination storytelling to celebrate Halifax, Nova Scotia and our place within Atlantic Canada.
Expansive illustrated maps and monumental murals transform the working cruise terminal into a vibrant international gateway, introducing visitors to the people, places, landmarks and experiences that make Nova Scotia distinctive.
More than murals, this is destination design at architectural scale—creating a memorable first impression of Halifax for visitors from around the world.
